FAQs

Q: What is Departed Paranormal?
A: Departed Paranormal is a highly trained group of paranormal and forensic investigators whose purpose is to research and investigate cold case homicides or questionable death cases with the intent to develop new leads to aid law enforcement in solving the crime. Our services are specialized, discrete and professional.

Q: What do you investigate?
A: We investigate homicides or questionable death cases that have been deemed by law enforcement to be a cold case. Our team provides services such as background research, crime scene analysis and testing, forensic material testing and paranormal investigation services all in effort to build plausible theories and develop additional leads for cases.

Q: What is a cold case?
A: “Cold Case” is a term used by law enforcement professionals when an active investigation has exhausted all leads and suspects.  The case goes cold because law enforcement has no additional avenues to pursue and investigate.  This is where Departed Paranormal steps in.  We use law enforcement documentation to perform additional research into the crime scenario, suspects, victims and resources. We also provide crime scene analysis using investigative equipment and technique to provide discovery of any questionable items.  We wrap up our case conducting a specialized paranormal investigation aimed at exploring specific items and locations to determine if answers to the case can come from beyond conventional means.

Q: What do you charge for your services?
A: We do not charge for any of our services. We do accept donations to help cover the cost of our travel, supplies and operational expenses, however donations are absolutely up to you.

Q: How is your group funded?
A: All of our expenses are funded by members of our team and from donations by our clients.  We have started a sponsorship program, please e‑mail us at This email address is being protected from spambots. There are some companies/individuals that offer a type of training which teaches you about the paranormal, but this is by no means a degree or certification for "paranormal investigation".  Please beware of any group or company that offers a "certification" or claims to be certified to investigate.
